There are only a few books for children with openly gay characters available these days. Part of the reason why these books are not favored is that in some places they are even banned from libraries or due to constant complaints librarians removed them from the shelves. This issue deserves more attention and acceptance, too.

What stops your child from reading?
Some children read because they see it as an example, a role model, but others need some motivation. Sometimes it is not about the model or motivation, but there is a problem to fix. There is something to overcome.

The reason, the books and the vision
Being a godmother, an aunt and a fan of literature in general, it is obvious for me to write about the relationship between children, adults and the imaginary world in their books. Even before I have read some of the great literary critics writing about the nature of tales, the power of the mind, I knew how important is to read: to read at all and to read to others.
